Live animal acceptance policy

Only cats and dogs will be accepted onboard OpenSkies flights and are only allowed in our Biz Seat (Prem Plus) and Eco cabins.

Pet Traveling in Cabin (PETC)

Cats and dogs under 6 kg / 13.2 lbs (container included)
Pet carrier must be well ventilated and large enough for the pet to be able to get up and turn around
Pet is not allowed to leave the transport kennel during the entire flight
Limited to one (1) pet per passenger
Limited to six (6) pets in cabin per flight
Medical and travel certificate must be provided.
A flat fee of $196 or 125 € will be applied for each pet traveling in cabin (PETC)

Cats and dogs weighing more than 6 kg / 13.2 lbs must be transported in cargo hold
Pet carrier must be well ventilated and large enough for the pet to be able to get up and turn around
Pet is not allowed to leave the transport kennel during the entire flight
Limited to one (1) pet per passenger
Limited to three (3) pets in cargo hold per flight
Medical and travel certificate must be provided.
A flat fee of $196 or 125 € will be applied for each animal traveling in cargo hold (AVIH)

Guide / Assistance Animals

Assistance Animals
A Guide or Assistance animal trained to provide mobility assistance (Blind, Deaf) or to assist a disabled person are permitted to be carried in all cabin sections (Biz Bed and Biz Seat) with conditions.
Guide animals or Assistance animals travel in cabin free of charge.
The Assistance animals must be properly registered and recognized. Travel documentation must be provided from an approved organization (accredited organisation)

Emotional Support Animals
Valid documentation required no more than one year from the date of passenger’s scheduled initial flight

Provide letterhead from a licensed mental health professional including a medical doctor specifically treating the passenger’s mental or emotional disability stating following:
- Passenger has a mental health related disability recognized in the diagnostic and statistical manual of Mental Disorders-Fourth Edition (DSMIV)
- Passenger needs the emotional support or psychiatric service animal as an accommodation for air travel and/or for activity at the passenger’s destination
- The individual providing the assessment is a licensed mental health professional and the passenger is under his or her professional care
- The date and type of the mental health professionals license and the state or other jurisdiction in which it was issued.

Plan to check-in one hour before the check-in time for the general public for documentation verification.

All of the above specific criteria must be provided to accept your emotional support or psychiatric service animal for travel in the passenger cabin free of charge. If all requirements are not met, the animal will travel as a pet in the cabin or cargo at the applicable rates
